Files uploaded with WinSCP are not being processed

Applies to: org.manager data uploads to the Navigo SFTP server using WinSCP

The problem

You upload your data files (for example, your employee and position CSV files) to the org.manager SFTP server using WinSCP. The upload looks like it has finished, but the files stay in the upload folder and are not picked up for processing.

You may also see this message in WinSCP:

"Transfer was successfully finished, but temporary transfer file could not be renamed to target file name."

Why this happens

WinSCP has a feature called automatic transfer resume. When it is turned on, WinSCP first uploads each file under a temporary name with a .filepart extension. Once the upload is complete, it renames the file to its real name.

The org.manager SFTP server moves files for processing as soon as they arrive. This means it picks up the .filepart file before the upload has finished. The transfer can't complete properly and your file is not processed.

How to fix it

Disable the transfer resume / transfer to temporary filename option — you can find the steps here.

Then, upload your files again.

If your files still aren't being processed after changing this setting, contact Navigo Support.
