Establishment Chart

The Establishment Chart gives HR staff and managers a detailed view of your organisation's structure, combining position and employee data in a single, easy-to-navigate view.

Overview

The Establishment Chart combines position and employee data into a single, easy-to-navigate view. It shows who is substantively in a role and who is acting, and surfaces key workforce details including salary, employment status and reporting relationships.

This chart is designed for users who need more than a standard org view. It's typically used by HR teams and authorised managers who require access to sensitive position and employee information.

Objectives

  • Give HR staff and managers a complete view of position occupancy across the organisation
  • Clearly distinguish between substantive and acting occupants in each role
  • Surface key remuneration and employment details for authorised users

 

Required fields

To get the most out of this chart, the following additional fields are generally recommended:

  • Employee Status
  • Employee Type
  • Start Date
  • Job Grade
  • Employee & Position FTE
  • Salary Information
  • Date of Birth
  • Weekly Hours
  • Position/Employee End Date

 

Conditional Formats

The following display options can be toggled to customise what appears on the chart:

  • Show Position ID — displays the unique identifier for each position
  • Show Employee ID — displays the unique identifier for each employee
  • Show End Date — displays the end date of an acting or temporary arrangement
  • Show Occupants — displays the name of the employee filling a position
  • Show Only Vacancies — filters the chart to show unfilled positions only

Legend

Each employee card displays a colour-coded indicator to show employment type at a glance:

  • Yellow — Full-Time
  • Red — Part-Time
  • Blue — Casual

Employee_highlights

This makes it easy to assess workforce composition across the structure without needing to open individual records.

The criteria for this legend can be customised. A different field category can be used, either against positions or employees, to suit your organisation's needs.

Vacant positions

Vacant positions will appear in the chart structure. Use the Show Only Vacancies conditional format to filter the chart down to unfilled roles only, which is useful for workforce planning and recruitment reviews.

Security

This chart is intended for HR administrators and authorised managers only. Access can be restricted to a specific user group to ensure sensitive remuneration and personal data is only visible to the right people. During implementation, we will workshop your specific security requirements.
